Finding Happiness #2 Memoirs of a Happy Life😊 (3 Habits You Must Quit To Be Happy)

in #motivation7 years ago

Happiness is a choice, not a result. Nothing will make you happy until you choose to be happy. Happiness isn’t some “fairy tale” state of being that you will have when you get what you want. Your happiness will not come to you. It can only come from you. You can experience happiness every second of everyday but sometimes we have those days which are not so friendly, sometimes we have a bad attitude or bad habits that can hinder our joy in life. On today’s (Finding Happiness #2) we’d be getting rid of some of those bad habits.

Stop Taking Everything For Granted, Be Thankful:

Happiness in Life, can increase dramatically with the help of gratitude! It’s one of the true secrets of a happy life. Don’t let the silly little things steal your happiness. Try to do this simple exercise: Make a list of 10 different things that have added value in your life or things that mean a lot to you & then when you wake up every morning, try to feel thankful for those 10 different things. It can be random, small or big things…and you don’t even need to say it with words, the key factor here is to feel gratitude inside. (If you are more comfortable when you say “thank out loud”, do it!). When you do this “exercise” every morning, you will program your subconscious mind for positivity and happiness, and will naturally have a positive attitude, a good sense of feeling and also experience personal growth throughout the day!

Stop Comparing Yourself To Others, Be Yourself:

The secret to happiness is freedom, the secret to freedom is courage and the secret to freedom is believing in yourself. The world as we all know is structured and the media and television try to impose certain doctrines on us and make us follow standards they find attractive. But it’s impossible to make all people look, act and be a “certain way”. If you really think about it the world would be really boring if everyone acted the same, dressed the same or had the same perspective of things. The Key here is to choose people who choose you because there is only one you in the world and there is power in being yourself. So accept and love yourself for who you are and embrace everything about your uniqueness! Like this you will feel happy and complete!

Stop Procrastinating, Start taking small steps in accomplishing a goal.

The problem most people have is that they look for happiness in the same place they lost it. Your dream might look extremely big and almost unattainable, but it doesn’t matter how slowly you go as long as you don’t stop. The greatest thing in life is doing what people say you cannot do. Even if you break it up on small or even tiny task, it will be easier for you to make progress and start moving into the direction of accomplishment of your vision. And with time all those little steps that you’ve made overtime will lead into something big. Always remember there is no path to happiness, happiness is the path.

Always remember that happiness is not having what you want. But wanting what you have.

Thank you for this! I found it useful, especially the tip on gratitude. I think being thankful is so important these days when it's so easy to get caught up in the culture of immediate gratification.

Best wishes,
