I see a lot of users here on steemit unhappy about the alleged unfair voting practices of our resident whales and after spending countless hours researching and composing your latest masterpiece, it could seem some what unfair that a pretty lady, off on her travels has yet again diverted the voters attention away from your latest offerings. Maybe your thinking to your self, whats the point, I am never going to land one of these illusive creatures of the deep . Well fear not , all is not lost...........
If we imagine the whale swimming through his natural habitat , which is of course the watery highways of steemit and we are an inexperienced fisherman bobbing around on top of the waves, with our rather undersized fishing rod in hand, then we are probably not going to be catch ourselves a whale . We must first look to improve the boat in which we sail and the rod from which we cast the line.
Only a big shinny harpoon gun will do....... fishing rods need not apply !
Catching the attention of these illusive watery mammals is no easy task , with only so many hours in a day , a whale can only be expected to come in to contact with a limited number of offerings. Perusing through the endless lists the eye of the whale needs to be lured in by a catchy picture and an original headline. Id say the the headline alone commands a 30 - 40 percent chance that your article will be snapped up and devoured.
So the whale has nibbled ........
Now you have caught the attention of one of these inquisitive animals you need to make sure your offerings taste good. It is useless to have been caught in the jaws of the beast only to be spat out and discarded because of the undiserable flavor of your wares. Only well researched , original and true to who you are articles that have a touch of flare will ensure the whale will feast upon your offering .
And for god sake don't just copy and paste from someone who did take the time to do all the things just mentioned, as this will surely lead to the whale firing you back out of his blowhole ,back into the ocean never to be seen again.
What time do whales most like to feast ?
Although a good piece of literature would have the chance to be spotted and do well no matter what time of the day it is, there are more whale sightings in the evening (10-11 pm on wards , UK time ) i have noticed. So planning your articles around these times, could be a good strategy, if you don't already.
Whales , dolphins and minnows never forget.......... one bitten twice shy
Your reputation within this oceanic community is everything, buy nurturing your reputation , being friendly and really making an effort to get to know your fellow fish folk , along with some inspiring articles , maybe one day you will rise to be a whale of steemit.
All the best , thanks for reading and i will see you out there among the waves.
