There are reggaeton songs that have been playing everywhere for the past few months and you may be tired of hearing them.
What is remarkable this time is not the artists who have popularized them or the genre to which these songs belong. The curious thing is that behind all these popular music hits are some Venezuelans who are making their lyrics heard worldwide. Let's review some of them.
Servando Primera
This Venezuelan singer, composer and actor has written some of the most popular songs in recent years. Songs such as Felices los 4 (Maluma), Mayores (Becky G), El baño, Duele el corazón (Enrique Iglesias), Me voy enamorando (Chino y Nacho), have been written by him, in collaboration with other composers.
Fun fact: His father, Ali Primera, was also a singer and composer and, according to Servando, never registered his songs.
Oscarcito
Jennifer Lopez's recent single, El anillo, was written by this Venezuelan singer and songwriter. The songs Amor, amor, amor, amor (Jennifer López and Wisin), No me acuerdo (Thalia and Natti Natasha), Que va (Ozuna), are his compositions. He participated in the production of another of the Bronx diva's most recent songs, Ni tu ni yo. In addition, he wrote Si tú me besas (Victor Manuelle), Bajito (Jean Carlos Canela), Deja que te bese (Marc Anthony and Alejandro Sanz), as well as songs for Yandel, CNCO, Belinda.
Mario Cáceres
This Zulian has been involved in the composition of great hits such as Vacaciones (Wisin), Felices los 4 (Maluma), Mayores (Becky G), among others.
Nacho
The popular ex-member of the Chino & Nacho duo, Miguel Ignacio Mendoza, not only has a huge list of hits popularized by the group (Mi niña bonita, Tu angelito, Me voy enamorando, Andas en mi cabeza, among many others) but has also composed and written for other artists such as Paulina Rubio, Silvestre Dangond, Sebastián Yatra, Fanny Lú, Jennifer López.
Omar Sabino (Omar Koonze)
The latest hit of Colombian reggaetonera Karol G, Mi Cama, was written by this young Venezuelan, who is also an actor and singer.
At this point you may have left the article when you see that there is reggaeton and puki puki music that doesn't please everyone and you think "that's not music". The truth is that I couldn't compare these songs to songs by Queen, Metallica, The Beatles, compositions by Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Wagner... but it's undeniable that creating catchy songs that stay for days on end in the minds of many is a task that has a lot of merit (surely some chorus that you didn't like ends up staying in your mind for much longer than you would like).
Obviously these are not the only Venezuelan composers. Hugo Blanco, Aldemaro Romero, Simón Díaz, Juan Vicente Torrealba, are just some of the other great composers born in this land.
