We do celebrate Halloween, however not nearly as big as in America. So not many pumpkins. But always some available from local farmers when in season, would be interested to know how to store them for long periods, being tropical here they don't seem to last more than a 2weeks once I get them home?

For long term storage, clean the outside very well, disinfecting it with a very diluted solution of 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide. Dry it. Store in a a cool, dry, dark place--avoid heat and humidity--on cardboard or paper to help absorb any moisture. The tropics can be a bit more tricky. Here in Texas when the pumpkins are ready, the weather has cooled a lot. I love pumpkins and truly grateful this one is doing its own thing in our garden!
Thanks, we usually store them in on the bench on cardboard, never though to clean them until we were ready to eat them nut will definitely give this a go, might make them last a bit longer! Thank you
