The new rate of gold will be effective from Wednesday onwards.

Bangladesh Jewelers Association has decided to increase the gold prices by up to Tk 1,400 in the market. The price of good quality or 22 carat gold will cost 50 thousand 738. The new rate of gold will be effective from Wednesday onwards.

Jewelers Association said this in a press release on Tuesday. Last, on December 25, the society had increased the rate of gold to Tk 1,400 by Taka 1,400.

According to the decision of Jewelers Association, now every variant (11.664 grams), 22 carat gold will be sold at Tk 50 thousand 738, 21 carats 48 thousand 406 rupees and 18 carat gold at 43 thousand 157 taka. And the traditional method will stand the gold of 26,536 rupees. But silver prices did not increase. Every rupee silver is sold at Tk. 1,550.

Till now, every 22 carat gold worth 49 thousand 339 rupees, 21 carats 47 thousand 123 rupees and 18 carats 41 thousand 874 rupees. Besides, the traditional system of gold will stand 25, 661 rupees.

Jewelery businessmen said, 91 per cent of 22 carats per year, 87 per cent in 21 carats and 75 per cent pure gold in 18 carats. Wages and Value Added Tax (VAT) will be added to the gold price to make ornaments.
