Taliban militants occupy a military base in the northern part of Afghanistan. A spokesman for Afghan army confirmed the news agency AFP that 14 soldiers were killed in the fight with them.

The army officer said that many Taliban militants were caught by the militants in the attack on the country's security forces. Many have escaped.

Army spokesman Mohammad Hanif Rezai said the militants took control of the army base in Firib province of Ghormach district. After a fierce clash for several days, they captured the army. During the attack on the base last Sunday, there were 100 people in the army.

Rezai said, unfortunately the bases went to the enemy's hands. Some soldiers have to die. Some have been caught and some escaped to the side of the mountain.

Fariab's MP Hashim Utk said 14 soldiers died. 40 Taliban militants were caught by the hand.

Tahir Rehmani, head of the provincial council of Faryab, said that the army did not get the army and air support in Kabul. They were more busy with Ghazni.

After the UN-led NATO army finished the mission in December 2014, the Afghan army was under pressure.
