Jordan Peterson vs Eric Dyson.

in #philosophy7 years ago

This debate exposes a few things for me.

  1. Jordan peterson is right about the hatred emanating from the left, particularly as expressed by Dyson. This illustrates a broader societal indifference to racial hatred towards white people, regardless of individual guilt or innocence.
  2. I find this illuminating for several reasons, the most important at the moment being the coming financial issues based on outdated Marxist economic theories. The current push towards equality will consume, or, has consumed a vast amount of the capital accumulated in order to provide the required level of material wealth necessary to amass a civilization like the one we currently inhabit.
  3. Those in power, namely people who would, broadly, much more likely agree with Dyson than Peterson, view all disagreement as dissent, which is a word they use, and all dissent is damaging to their narrative, which they view as violence. Therefore physical violence is a practical intimidation tactic, as explained by Ms. Goldberg. If the line is physical violence, then the line will be crossed, because the threshold is too high. One can induce that physical violence will be the new political norm for the left during the next election cycle, in both Europe and North America.
  4. These movements, as Jung says, are Ideas. People do not have ideas, Ideas have people. These Marxist Ideas have found a way to propagate slowly through the University since the 1960's, when authority was taken for truth rather than truth as the authority.
