Greetings ladies and gentlemen! This is a short guide to Zion National Park and my personal experience (and pictures) at the beautiful scenic park. (I promise I'm not here trying to convert you Mormonism)

So Zion National Park is located in Springdale, Utah in the south western part of the good old United States (about 166 miles form Las Vegas,NV)

How to get there:

1.) Head on Interstate 15 north from Las Vegas,NV
2.) Take exit 16 and stay right on State Route 9 East for about 33 miles.
3.) Stay on Route 9 East in La Verkin, Utah for 20 miles.
4.) From there... Route 9 East enters into the one and only...The magical Zion National Park.

Once there, make sure you stop buy the visitor center to get a map of the park, and to get an idea of your surroundings. It helps to know the, do's and don'ts of any park you'll be visiting. Plus, souvenirs and bathroom breaks are a must anyway ;) I always do after a long drive.

Just driving to the visitor center will blow your mind. It's like traveling back in time (especially for city-slickers like myself) It kinda feels like Jurassic Park, you'll be waiting for a Pterodactyl to come down any moment out of the valley and swoop someone up for breakfast.

Once you got that out of the way, I recommend you getting settled and getting lodging. The park offers tent sites, cabins, suites, conestoga's and RV's locations. I also recommend you booking those things at least 2 months in advance because they get booked real quick. Here is a link for more info: https://www.zionponderosa.com/accommodations/

Once you have that checked off and you're ready for adventure, there are a lot of things you can do here. The park has shuttle buses to take you to many of the site seeing hotpots. You won't be getting tired going there, but some of these hikes will definitely get you pooped and fatigued. I recommend bringing a camel back for hydration, snacks and other sustenance of your choice.

My personal favorite is Angels Landing, it's a hike not for the faint of heart. (Pic's below of my ascension to the top) If you are afraid of heights, maybe this isn't for you, but you don't have to go all the way up, and you can still get an AMAZING view of the park regardless. I saw people of all ages, and I mean ALL ages climb Angels Landing. So if you think youre too old , that's non-sense. Challenge yourself and go on your own pace. Of course there is a lot more places than Angels Landing trail to see. Some of the other places I recommend to see are:

The Narrows
Zion Canyon Scenic Drive
Observation Point
Canyon Overlook Trail
Weeping Rock Trail
Horseback Riding Tours to name a few.

This is the mid-point of the hike. It's a great place to catch a breather on the trail and maybe eat a snack. We're not stopping here folks! We march forward and on-wards! Your-left-your-left-your-left-right-left!

Hold on to dear life!

Fair warning, people have died on this trail (Not kidding) so take it slowly. Some portions of this trail have no chains to hold on to, and people going up and down it at the same time. So go slowly.

We did it! On top of the world! (Not really but lets pretend mmm'kay!) Look at that view! From here, just bask in all it's glory! It's not uncommon to find chipmunks and hawks on top of here.
