You may think its just a crunched up piece of tinfoil or you may think its a chuck of gold. You are wrong you have just been fooled by pyrite or commonly known as 'Fool's Gold'. No it's not the movie "Fools Gold" starring Matthew McConaughey. Fools Gold is a mineral that has a similar appearance to gold, but unlike gold it has cube like faces on it as well as a different hardness and brittleness. The name 'Pyrite' comes from the the Greek word 'pyritēs' meaning "of fire" or "in fire" because its creates spark when struck against steel.
