Baked Chicken Breasts with Sticky Honey Sriracha Sauce — Bursting with flavor and perfectly juicy and dry oven baked chicken!
INGREDIENTS LIST FOR THE BAKED CHICKEN BREASTS
4 chicken breasts, skinless and boneless
4 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons Sriracha
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon rice vinegar (or white wine vinegar)
Juice of 1 lime
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
1 teaspoon cornstarch
2 teaspoons water
Salt and fresh cracked pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 teaspoons sesame seeds, for garnish
2 green onions, thinly sliced, for garnish
Fresh chopped cilantro, for garnish
** DIRECTIONS **
Preheat your oven to 400ºF (200ºC). Lightly oil a baking dish or coat with nonstick spray.
In a saucepan, mix the honey, Sriracha, garlic, ginger, rice wine vinegar, soy sauce and lime juice together until well combined. Heat over medium heat until simmering. Turn off heat. Mix cornstarch with 2 teaspoons water and stir in the sauce.
Season chicken with salt and pepper, to taste. Arrange chicken breasts in the baking dish and top with 2/3 of the homemade sauce. Drizzle with a bit of olive oil and bake uncovered for 30-40 minutes, or until chicken’s internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Remove from oven, garnish with sesame seeds, sliced green onion and cilantro. Serve immediately over rice, bulgur or quinoa with remaining sauce on the side.
