I prepared a post for today on a different topic as usual. Most of the human population lives in the cities and towns. Probably the same applied to my followers. Not sure, but anyway.
I hope you'll find this story interesting.
When we lived in the countryside we were surrounded by all kind of different birds. This photo story will be about chickadees.
A pair of them started to research our front yard to find a proper place for nesting. Chickadees are not picky.
One of them started to prepare the nest. I assume that was the male, while the other one was guarding. Or maybe it was opposite. They look the same. You never know these days but I'm sure one of them was female. Otherwise, who would lay eggs?
After three weeks I lifted the roof in discover five young birds. For sure they wouldn't win the beauty contest, but hey; who am I to judge them?
Flies and bugs in.
Shit out.
Parents were busy for the next couple of weeks and my camera was ready to take some clicks of an offspring.
From my previous posts, you're well aware that my camera is not some top notch stuff but I'm sure that even the best one doesn't have an X-ray feature so we could see the little birdies.
So where is the happy end you ask yourself?
Don't look at me. Ask him.
haha really cut cat :D
wonderfully taken photos ! :)
Nice photo, I think you have a soft heart, you really like small animals. You should keep the cat, so that the bird does not become a meal. 😂 salam from Indonesia hopefully we can be good friends.
It was neighbors cat.
very nice click
Thank you. This photo shared this photo is very nice. This is an awesome photo, and you're really a good photographer.
Awesome Chickadee Story, Beautiful and perfect clicks, Nice explanation, You are doing a great job
that cat looks like a trouble maker and hes majestic :D
Hahaha!nice post...
Those chickadees should build a wall for that big eyed kitty there hahahah!
Countryside life is awesome, seeing animals work on their circle of life is watching real life national geographic haha.
PS, those tiny birdies......But have you ever seen a cute baby just an hour after birth? :D
I did. Like kid we were experts.
Amazing topics - Birds and cat in the same post is awesume choice.
hahha i think you dont give any happy ending but one thing is you give that they have now childs and a happy life maybe to protect thier childs from any others and were busy to make house more save @joe
the photos make your story attractive and unique and small childs look so cute
nice story
Birds are amazing. At least on your pictures. Your first picture brings back some sad memories. Once I had nesting box like yours with little Great Tits in it. One nice morning I heard from some distance a banging on wood. As I found out it was a woodpecker who beat a hole in the side bord. When arrived at the scene two little birds where taken one little left. I fixed the bord and ... ah it was not a nice ending. Bad woodpecker.
Thanks. It was my first chickadee. Didn't even knew them.
Beautiful birds. In the countryside we see more animals than in the city. They have also a better life in the countryside. More food available. Not much technology and enough trees and nature.
That cat is very cute as well. Love it :)
Nice post, thank you for sharing :)
'When we lived in the countryside we were surrounded by all kind of different birds. This photo story will be about chickadees.' You definitely cannot find this experience in the city.
Thanks for your wonderful juxtaposition of two different worlds.
Yeek, I hope it's not a cat ending!!
No, no. We have still more birds than cats, hehe.
Lol, thankfully. When one of my cats gets a face like that there is often trouble in the air!
Cute story... that criminal cat at the end... looks very suspicious... haha!
The chicks do not look so bad. Hahaha.
The birds look happy. And the cat has new neighbors now
Nice (or not) twist to the ending!
So, a study came out in the journal Nature, that cat's kill around 1.4 BILLION birds in the US alone per year!
That's why they nest twice a year and have more chicks.
I have two Siamese, and I'm a birder, too.
So, I see my share of challenges, on both sides!
gok güzel anlatım.
haha
Delightful images. The cat at the end made me laugh.
Did you just assume my gender?
I'd only ever heard of 'chickadee' in the film title starring W C Fields. In the UK, we've got similar birds but we call them 'tits'. Not to be offensive, like; it's just how we roll over here :p
Love to see these little guys. We've put feeders in our backyard - but the stupid magpies and squirrels keep taking what they can. They made a huge mess and the chicadees don't get much. We keep trying though.
I feel you, man. Same here in Edmonton.
Always at the top and continue @oldtimer . I hope you will read my postings and would like to thank you
Excellent story
wow nice story. thanks for this post.@oldtimer
wow nice clicks..i feel sorry for those little birds..and i hate cats..hate them..hate them..we too have a cat at home and today he has eaten a bird..we saw only the left overs on the floor..just hate them
That's life.
Would have been a great story if the ending was not that sad
-cheers-

Stop.
pooty cat..
A cool post, the chicks may not be beauty queens in some peoples minds but they will grow up beautiful in their own rights and live a lovely life free to fly and see the world as they wish
very nice photos
You could probably put a screw in the top so he cant get in next time. Then just zap it out with the cordless when u want in.
Nice also
So, are you an avid birdwatcher? Have any other good ones around your suburban yard? If you want, i've been posting a few cools pics of birds I see in North Carolina. Birding is awesome, so if you havent started, you should!!
