Hi Guys!
Later the same day, when we reached our destination cabin by the Lovatnet lake, we went for a final trip that day - towards the amazing glacial wall of Kjenndalsbreen glacier.
This is just a small part of the biggest Norwegian glacier called Jostedalsbreen located in a National Park of the same name.
To get there we had to drive to the end of the Lovatnet lake, then took a paid mountain road to the final parking place. From this spot is a short hike towards the glacier viewpoint.
On the way there we stopped by the viewpoint with detailed information tables about the dramatic history of the area - two times already a huge amount of rocks fall down to the lake creating a destructive tsunami waves which killed many people and destroyed all the villages by the lake shore.
But going back to our final destination - the view around from this position is amazing.
Just imagine a huge mountain walls surrounding the narrow valley with many powerfull waterfalls going down, with huge boulders everywhere... and in final - with the view on the glacier's ice at the end of the valley.
This place is magical, pure nature, powerful feeling of being so small versus the nature's power.
We all had this feeling that this place has unique energy.
Atmosphere and the landscape around was very raw.
Just a 70 years ago the glacier was covering most of the wall visible today.
After a while we got back to the car as it begun to rain again and it was getting really dark.
Definitely Kjenndalsbreen is one of those places I will go back to when have a chance and I can truly recommend to visit it if You will travel to Jostedalsbreen National Park in Norway some day.
