Tonight is a Full Moon - How to Take a Photo of the Moon

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

Taking a photo of the moon might be a little challenging for the beginners. This is where you have to left the auto mode and learn how to use manual mode in your camera. If you use your camera in auto mode, the moon will probably appear as a white blob. However no worry, I shared the settings, so, you can easily adjust your settings and take a photo of the moon like mine.

If you want the moon to cover the photo, you should use 600mm lenses. Since I have a 55-300mm zoom, tried to zoom digitally in raw. format and it looks like below.

Ideal Settings; ISO:100 Aperture: f/11 Shutter: 1/125 sec.

This is the original one with 300 mm zoom.

This is the result of automatic mode. I hope you can see the differences :)

Most importantly, you should stabilize your camera. It is better to use tripod but I used other objects.
