A Lonely Truth

in #poem7 years ago

Some background before you read this poem. I am not a writer by any extent of the word. I try to convey as much as a can but I know I have my limitations. The following poem I wrote when I lost my first lover in a car accident. I decided to write my memories of him down so that I would never completely lose them. I knew eventually I would forget the details. After each memory I wrote a little poem. Here is one:

Another memory gone into the pages of this cheap marble covered note book.

Written for you in a time of great despair.

Truth shall set us free or bind us at our knees.

My love for you grew as time marched on but you and I had separate fates.

As a child I often thought that I would pass into the void at 22 years old.

My own prophesy came true.

With your death the old me died.

Did you die for me?

Thank you for reading. I would love to hear your thoughts. Good or bad. I welcome criticisms. Love your faces. :)
