I Will Wait For You In The Twilight

when grudges have fallen
umbrage now faded detritus
sacrificed to the rites of fecundity

when old days have passed
memory dissolved
wafted away on the scent of jasmine

The dawn's chorus is struck

I will wait for you in the twilight
keep the birds singing and hold back the rising

when I feel the light of your gaze
the warmth of your hand
then ... like before ... we will begin once again

The photo captures the bittersweet mood of the verse. Beautiful write.

Thank you, yrretel:)

Those are some great lines Pryde! So like when you talk on the phone, is it still in verse and prose?? LOL

A fine photo of the gloaming! Now there is a word you can squeeze in somewhere!

The Gloaming ... sounds like the title of horror movie ... beware the gloaming. Nah in real live most of what I say is in form a joke ... reallY:):):)

Oh me too. I find a good sense of humor to be highly underrated these days. Everything in life is better with a bit of humor thrown in!
