yeah it's a classical one, outsourcing loss to the public and keeping the profits private. A good example is the nuke industry, they produce energy keeping the profits, while not being insured (only business operating without insurance) and no provisioning for dismantlement and eventual sudden loss of integrity and total dispersion on continental scale of toxins. Another one is the gmo toxic food industry, when a dna event (new extreme parasites, unanticipated mutation spreading, what the ever the dna fall outs), they would have kept the profits and socialized the loss. A third example would be war, but you will see that it quickly goes out of control as those surviving it, will quickly take over over those who send them there... how could those who sent them control those who defeated others way stronger than the senders? hehehe.
but I think to understand it is useful to inch toward advanced modern anthropology aka hypergamy study fields, or woman mating paterns influence outcomes. For example those who have currency even gotten from crimes and scams, females will mostly seek as mate. Providing a positive feedback loop toward crimes and scams.
All of this become way more interesting in a dynamic battlefield, where certain groups are decaying while others are expanding. the standards aren't the same in 20k individuals group and a billion one.
