Hello Steemians,
Many of you may want to know what I and many other Nigerian Steemians were up to today, right? Well! We took Steemit to the offline as usual.
We had a live meet up today at the Coal City State which happens to be the first Official meetup in Southeast Nigeria. It was mega fun, educative and inspiring. We took the knowledge and experience we have gained from the platform so far to newbies and prospective members.
We have come to a level where people look up to us. People want to hear what we say as community leaders. We have to literally take them by the hands and show them the way.
Me & some community leaders
The way to succeed on Steemit is by imbibing the right attitudes. We have to teach them to stay for the community above coming for the money. The money follows those who are already staying for the community.
I gave a speech about
"Bringing Your Ideas To The Blockchain"
During the talk, I took the opportunity to highlight some of the alternative platforms that are equally fun to use as regards the steem blockchain. Including;
- DTube
- Dlive
- Zappl
- Busy.Org
- Steepshots
- DMania etcx.
We had to tell them the truth. That truth is that; not everyone blogs well. Some are better as Vloggers. Some are better as short apt story-tellers. Some are better as scientific researchers. Some are developers. The best thing you can do for someone (especially a newbie) is showing them the appropriate platform that he/she will benefit from.
Its actually a form of talent hunt. We help them sort through their personal confusions about their identities. Once they get this right, everything about them begins to become beautiful especially as it relates to the blockchain.
At this point, their blog posts aligns with some ultimate passion. An intrinsic desire begins to drive the individual and he/she becomes self-propelling.
I'm glad I had that opportunity today. I can only wish that all these newbies/prospective signees will actually utilize the gift of brains they have. They should tap into the skills and experience of community leaders like @ejemai, @eurogee, @tojukaka, @ewuoso, @ogochukwu, @theheralds etcx who have poured their heart and soul into STeeming good and hot!
Thank you all for reading! More to come soon!
