Summer will soon arrive and the Scottish Producer / D / Producer, Calvin Harris returns with a new single ready to welcome the cheerful season. The title was straight to the point, Summer. But does Summer catch the essence of that summer, or just a mere gimmick?
Structurally, it's a simple song. Even the lyrics are also not so much that in general, this 3 minute long song contains repeated chants. Calvin Harris went directly to sing the song, confidently without the help of guest vocals. But this actually feels right, because although the vocal is not amazing, but the style of singing that sounded a little lazy feels right with the atmosphere of the song.
The main strength now lies progressive house beat that is presented with more subtil though pop is still a mainstay. Of course, the song still relies on easy listening songs that aim to be friends on the dance floor. Like most of Harris's songs, the instrumental part is always utilized as best as possible to bring a memorable rhythm. Or call it memorable, so this part can also be very hummingable.
The passionate spirit of Summer is actually the essence of the song. Although we can not expect from the vocals of Harris, but the beat-beat Summer is quite representative. He was quite successful enough to carry out his mission as a cheerful summer anthem. Summer rather reminiscent of Harris's early works. But it was fun! So I guess it's okay.

LYRIC SONG
To my heartbeat sound
We fell in love
As the leaves turned brown
We could be together baby
s long as skies are blue
You act so innocent now
But you lied so soon
When I met you in the summer
When I met you in the summer
To my heartbeat sound
We fell in love
As the leaves turned brown
We could be together baby
As long as skies are blue
You act so innocent now
But you lied so soon
When I met you in the summer
Great music and video! Thank you for sharing
