This is the first time since 1932 that a hurricane as strong as Maria has hit the Island. Lets hope for the best, here is the latest projection from the National Hurricane Center:
Comment: We now have maximum sustained winds of 155 mph. Then it will probably hit the Dominican Republic but miss both Cuba and the US east coast, so that is some good news.
It is good news since I am on the east coast of Florida. We dont need to get hit again although the same could be said for DR and Puerto Rico.
Some rough stuff....my thoughts are with all of them.
Thanks for the update.
Yeah, DR and Puerto Rico seems to be in the "Hurricane Valley" so to speak. Perhaps not the best place to get a second home if you want to hang out in the Carribean. The islands south of Cuba would probably be a better place.
Very true. Plus it just doesnt seem the construction down there is up to par. At least in Florida we added to the building code after Andrew. Many of the places in the locations you mentioned have building that splinter in high winds.
