I agree with pretty much everything, that you have said except for the part with frustration. If you can't handle frustration, you are pretty much to stay way from everything in this life. Be it programming, lab, finances or even teaching - it's all frustrating in one way or another. What such person, that can't really stand frustration should do is to focus on improving himself in order to be able to handle frustration. Nothing will fix by itself in this world, unfortunately.
