Have you said this? I will be happy when... I would be happy if... As if some future event will make us happy and that will be that. If only my body were this way or when my life is that way, THEN I will be happy. Does that future ever come? Or is it ever elusive?

Do you find that even if the things you have been waiting for to be happy come, it doesn’t last. Sure there is momentarily satisfaction but what about beyond that? Do you step right back into looking forward for the next “thing” that will make you happy? Probably.

When you are dependent on something to make you happy you are always seeking it and never truly enjoying it. It’s fleeting and the human mind moves on just as quickly as it came. So how can we shift this? Simple you can choose to be happy and enjoy life regardless of having that “thing”. You could love your body the way it is! You can enjoy what you do have instead of waiting for the next big thing.

Maybe that sounds too simple or maybe you are shaking your head right now saying YES I want that life! Stop waiting to be happy and just choose to be happy. Have gratitude for what you do have! See the beauty in what surrounds you now. Enjoy the body that gives you life in this moment. Now you just watch as your life opens up, transforms and you actually get to enjoy it!
