Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: Strategies For Spending Glint

in #splinterlands2 months ago

I joined Splinterlands nearly four years ago but I am still considering myself as a apprentice. It was a roller-coaster of fun, as the amount of information I had to assimilate was insane!

What's Splinterlands PVM? ... asked one of my normies frens' one day! Well bro.... Splinterlands is a strategic auto-battler multiplayer digital-collectible trading card game on the Hive blockchain! He had no clue what I was talking so I told him is like Pokemon battles and he nodded as he knew all about it!

My main advice is to aim to be better, and keep up with the updates! Read, learn, play and engage with the people. New cards bring new synergy and new tactics!

Normie frens' don't know I call them "my normie friends"! As Deckard Cain once said... Stay Awhile and Listen! The story started with an young apprentice, a seeker of knowledge, that had some big dreams and nothing to lose. I become thirsty for knowledge and improved my game with practice.

Fight and win throughout the season to earn Glint, and improve your deck. You will earn Glint with every win, and another batch at the end of the season. Use it wisely!

I usually spend the Glint gathered throughout the season on Common cards, spending 150 for each draw. The Glint received at the end of the season is spent on Rare cards, spending 75o for each draw.

Let me present you a failed experiment! I used 13,000 Glint to buy 13 Major Chests, and hoped that the gods of random will be kind. The same amount of Glint could have been used for 17 rare draws and 2 common cards.

Lots of Merits, enough for a Gladius Case! The market value for 2200 Merits would be 2200 Glint at the shop. I've got potions as well, 12 Legendary and 9 Alchemy ones, with a market value at 1860 Glint.

Moving to the cards, where I've got "rewarded" with 18 common cards. The market value for those would be 2250, as each common draw would cost only 150 Glint. I've got half the value invested and this made it clear that card draws are better than playing with random chances!

I scrapped the above strategy and used the Glint for rare draws, as a cheaper and more secure alternative to get better cards.

I struggled to raise DEC for the Wild Pass, so took me a while to get it. When I had enough to buy it, I also had 49 energy to use! Battled with honor and earned enough Glint for four rare draws!

I used 3000 Glint and got the four guaranteed cards, and three of them were new additions! Welcome Continuum Seer, Skyspire Leopard and Quilliun Legionary!

Use the Glint on common cards until you get them all to level two or three, then slowly get some rare cards into your deck. The end of season rewards can be used to buy an epic card.

Don't play with random chances, and go for the guaranteed cards! Most of the cards are upgraded at level two, got few gold foils as well, and the quest is on!

You could also unleash the power of the Rebellion's legends! Each exclusive promo card celebrates a character who played a pivotal role in the rebellion. Now, they'll pay a pivotal role on your team in the arena! Own a piece of history and dominate your opponent with these iconic heroes!

Sanctus Vicar Logan Rockford, high priest of the Church of Gryyja, Goddess of Protection, joined the people of Feranon when they rose against the Chaos Empire. Without him, the uprising would have failed before it began.

I was looking forward to use my new card in battle, and see how the new ability fits some different line-ups! Are you ready for the glory of the Sanctus Vicar?

Sanctus Vicar is neither cheap or expensive, as the six mana cost is fair for the stats he brings in combat! He has 2 ranged attack, a bit of armor, good health and can cleanse the unit at the back! This could be very useful in Noxious Fumes battles!

image.png

Is there a perfect tactic to play a battle with no special rules and only 19 mana? I wanted to play the Sanctus Vicar, and also fancy gladiator cards. The solution was to play Eternan Brune and Orella Abadon! Game on!

Eternan Brune: -2 Armor & +1 Gladiator

Antoid Platoon: Melee with Shield

Radiated Scorcher: Melee with Shatter

Orella Abadon: Melee with Sneak and Bloodlust

Sanctus Vicar: Ranged with Cleanse

Scorching Fiend: Melee Decoy

I faced a team that reduced my health and magical damage, and my opponent tried to make the battle last longer with the extra armor from the Ravenhood Warden.

Unfortunately for them, the armor was reduced by my summoner! This made Orella instantly have her first kill and bloodlust! The Cursed Windeku will play a big role, as this is the enemy that can deal more damage with the Thornes. This mast fall fast!

Orella delivered another deadly strike, and the Life Sapper couldn't sap enough life to survive! Another bloodlust and the focus moves on the Cursed Windeku, as his Thornes brought the Antoid Platoon demise!

image.png

The Carrion Shade was Orella's next victim! Another kill... another bloodlust... and she went into God Mode! Soon she had to face the Cursed Windeku in a duel that will change the tides of the battle!

The Windeku eliminated the Radiated Scorcher and was getting ready for Orella. The Sanctus Vicar delivered a perfect hit, then Orella delivered the killing blow! Thornes damgage then bloodlust! See the full battle here!
