Boise State Broncos QB Brett Rypien sure has a nice pedigree and the stats he put up in college were noticeably spectacular. He did not get drafted in the 2019 NFL draft but immediately after he had several teams calling to sign him to an undrafted free agent contract.
His father played in the NFL for several years, albeit under a different type of contract Brett will sign. The Denver Broncos agreed to terms with Rypien today and guaranteed him a contract north of six figures. To put this in perspective, lest year Phillip Lindsay who was an undrafted rookie who actually made the Pro Bowl signed for 15k and linebacker AJ Johnson signed a deal for 50k which was the largest undrafted free agent contract in franchise history.
Of all the moves the Broncos made during free agency and the draft, I feel as if this is actually one of the most important. We only had two QB’s on the roster and while I feel very fortunate to land Drew Lock in the second round with our third pick, Rypien will provide great competitive practices at camp and also some much needed depth at the position. We now have four quarterbacks on the roster and there will most likely be only room for three which is what most NFL teams carry.
If Rypien can excel in the NFL as a legitimate backup down the road, this puts the Broncos in a very strong position to have success in the AFC West going forward.
Elway draft pics were right on. Dalton Risner, Drew Lock, Dre’Mont Jones, and a big, athletic tight end Noah Fant for quarterback Joe Flacco. Big Ten tight end, Fant should get a chance to contribute immediately.
Elway accomplished all of this in the first two rouynds. You have got to like what he has done.
Rypien can take advice from his father as he experienced in nfl, it could enrich future carriers in nfl to improve skills and demand in transfer league market.

AJ Johnson's deal still thrills me today really, but in the case of Brett Rypien I think his father's deal is well something to talk about but his was definitely outstanding considering he is very young, apart from the stats I see a young man who will be raking up honours in the NFL soon
I guess rypien must have learnt some of it though from his father since his father played the same game
Saludos Bro!
Flacco and Lock make the team. Rypien is likely to be on the practice squad or at least that is how the New England Patriots would handle such a situation!
Let's see what will be in STRONG positions for AFC. Hope for the best .

In my opinion Broncos will be successful in the AFC West going forward.
Simply owning his father's genes would be a great player
great picks during and after draft days
