The grandkids all love cooking baking day at Grandmas house! We have so much fun....and then I spend months getting frosting scrubbed off furniture and walls! It's worth it though!

different type food
In France, and specificaly in the south part called "Provence", we have a tradition for Christmas.
Instead of a Christmas pudding we offer what we call "Les 13 desserts".
The principle is to propose as much as 13 different desserts.
I guess some of you understand where this amount comes from : it is for Jesus and his 12 apostles.
Here is an example, but you are able to let your creativity lead the meal :
(of course the wine i not a dessert)
Desserts can but fruits, cakes, nuts ... it's up to you :-)
so much food
every food is teasty

Gotta promote Struffoli here, a classic neapolitanian Christmas sweet with a long tradition and endless childhood memories π

INGREDIENTS FOR BRUNKAGER (with special ingredient) 250 g butter 125 g brown sugar 250 g of syrup 1 tsp. ground cloves 1 tsp. ground ginger 1 tbsp. bumped cardamom 1 tbsp. ground cinnamon 50 g sliced almonds, finely chopped 1 tsp. finely-baked organic orange peel 1Β½ tsp. potash 1 tbsp. warm water Β½ kg flour
Recipe - how to make the brown cookies.
-Bring butter, brown sugar and syrup in a saucepan and melt over medium heat. Let it gently reach the boiling point and take the saucepan off the heat.
Stir cloves, ginger, cardamon, cinnamon, almonds and orange peel in the sugar mass.
-Dissolve the potash in a little warm water and stir in the sugar mass. Add flour and stir until the dough is empty. Let it cool a little and roll it into thick sausages. Pack them in plastic wrap and freeze them until the next day (or in a few weeks if you are in good time).
-Remove the dough directly from the freezer and cut it into thin slices. Bake baking tray on baking sheet with baking paper at 200 Β° (celcius) for 5-7 minutes. Let the brown cookies cool on the baking sheet.
Eat.
Use about 20 gram of hash for about 500g cooked cookies.
Have a nice day :-)
