RE: Superfy - Awesome Answers from Awesome Peoples

in #steemhunt6 years ago

I do like the 'ask anything' services; many tried (and some are still trying) such services with a business model around it. Many failed though, due to costs. This App seems to us real people to answer as well, but without a business model. The one who answers it, does it because that person wants to do so. Maybe this works. But would you simply trust the answer you get from some random stranger? What is the incentive of the App owner to spend money on development and maintenance of the App? Is this a cleaver way to collect users information? Their Terms and Conditions / Privacy Statement answers these questions, but still, it is questionable. They leave the option open that advertisers may use the service; They leave the option open to charge for the service. They have some rating mechanism, but how does this work and how can it be gamed? They do require to use Facebook to login and start using the service, which is a big negative. We all know the business model of FB, and we all know how not in control FB is wrt protection of privacy, and we all know what they claim and in reality do with their own services.

Fun idea and service, but I would be careful using and trusting it.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts @edje, i believe that their is a room for improvement in any technology and i really like the idea behind this app where real peoples answer your question through private chat.

Once you type the question and hit search superfy won't select any random user infact it do it's own research and refer you to a person that will give you a best possible answer and it's free so their is nothing to lose.

As far as privacy is concerned you can use this service anonymously without signing in through your real facebook profile.
