So, it is very common situation - you have submited your very good and interesing article, you did all right and so as it was written in the tutorial. You even have added a bit more of humor than others, a bit more good pictures than others, a bit more emotions and overall text than others. After that you have a lot of upvotes and positive comments from usual people...but there is still no any trace of any whales. It's very sadly moment!
But this is not the final. Suddenly you notice some usual blog (yes, it can be good, but not so much better than yours), often it is the blog of a beautiful (or sometimes even not very beautiful) girl...and this blog gains incredible count of reward right before your eyes!
What is happening? Why?
Hello! Here I am! Come to me! Pleeeeease, upvote me!
Shit...
Fuck you! fuck you, fuck you, fuck you!
Next step - trying to understand things, making analysis.
You can just skip this step, it won't give you the knowledge.
Even if you will be analysing it with your friends...
Just go to the next step...
So, what do the whales want? How to make them upvote your great blog?
Nobody exept whales theirself don't know, what they want at the current moment! Maybe even they don't know self, what they want. Maybe now they want to read a life story, maybe in hour they will want to see an art, in another hour they will want to see the f*cking graphs of bitcoins and at another time they won't see anything. Maybe they like random upvotes or maybe their bots are rebelling against the great authors like us!
Maybe there is a secret conspiracy between whales (and some authors), who knows?)
Nobody knows...even Jon Snow.
What to do?
First of all, be calm. Do not be nervous. Just write your next quality article.
Maybe one day all users will become the whales and they will give you your deserved award!
That's all. Good luck!
There are certainly some articles that gain the attention. Some of them may seem pretty trivial like makeup tutorials and what not. These posts are getting upvoted because they are pop culture and are likely to bring in the most swarms of people. That does not always bode well for other really good content. I have urged that posters take a long range view and write what they know with passion. Sometimes these articles will give you a bit of a hit. Participation is also key. Some have made more with comments than they have with their blog posts. Either way good luck with your posts.
Steemit is competing with Facebook.
If Steemit wants to win this race to the bottom of the septic tank
it needs to purge the ranks of any content worth reading.
The financial rewards of being blindingly stupid are breathtaking wealth.
I think, Steemit is a some kind project of Facebook dev team)
