I don't like auto voting because I trust no one to make good content and comments all the time, and I want all my votes to be genuine. But it would be a good idea to have more control over who can comment, thus limiting the majority of spam and letting the real comments shine.

The whitelist upvote could simply equal the system-imposed cost of commenting in order to cancel its effect on your regulars. Alternatively, you could manually upvote all of your regular's comments that were genuine and good.
I, for one, tend to stay away from comment sections where my comments never get upvoted. That's because I value my time and because never getting upvoted in somebody's comment section is often a symptom of not being appreciated. I'd assume most my regulars to feel the same way, which is why I'd be glad to whitelist them to enable them to comment for free.
I do upvote a lot of comments, especially ones from the regulars, because I do appreciate them, and you, even though we don't always agree! :)

She's got some quite powerful accounts supporting her regularly. If the owners of those accounts get tired of this, you might get on their shitlists. @berniesanders is one of @everuncovered's followers if not regular supporters. If he gets tired of your harrassment campaign, you will never recover from that shitstorm. This account of yours will as good as done for.
Let the dumb ones learn for themselves. It is a life-lesson some of them need to experience, not be warned about after they don't know basic good humaning.
