RE: Steemit: Why can people upvote without even clicking on the post?

in #steemit8 years ago

I've been reaching out a lot lately, in comments, trying to get to know people. I love the quality of conversation possible in a place where you give someone a boost every time you comment. It disincentivizes flame wars and recognizes the value of posts that spark conversation.

However, I just lost it reading some of the comments on @willimbanks most recent post about bots. Some people here seem to think the most awesome way to treat Steemit is to abuse it and are applauding and Godblessing @msgivings for getting away with it. It seems there is a wide array of opinions about what Steemit can survive becoming. It seems every other week my confidence in the community is shaken because of people who see no value in human connectivity and are willing to totaly undermine what I see as possible here.

And yet, that's opening my mind and introducing me to a bigger pond than I've wanted to be aware of. I'm benefitting from even the ugliest parts of Steemit. If only my heart didn't seem to be at stake... Price of admittance to anything worth doing, I suppose. ;)
