I believe that everyone, at the core of their being, is truly good. Unfortunately, we live in a day and age that doesn’t currently allow everyone to be good, because the system we live in favors greed. Greed is the ugliest emotion that people have. Greed breeds hate, lying, cheating, and stealing. Everyone wants the best for themselves, and within our system where scarcity of goods and resources is abundant, this creates a vicious circle where people need to embrace their greed in order to thrive.I have heard it many times in my life, that money is the source of evil. When I was younger I didn’t buy into it, because I was raised in a wealthy family. My parents taught me excellent moral values, so I assumed that the people who said money was evil was just the people who weren’t good at making money. This view has drastically changed. Our society supports evil, and thrives on it. Humans were meant to be cooperative. We only cooperate as much as required, before we go back into our shells (work then home). In most job fields, the goal is hardly about progression but about sustaining our consumer, greed filled, lifestyle. Some of the poorest people I have met, were some of the happiest people. They taught me that money is nothing but a tool that allows us to purchase things we need and don’t need. This is counter productive to the very nature of humans. It is a known fact, that humans are social creatures. If this is the case, why do we spend so much time out of the roots of our social nature? This is because we have been indoctrinated as a species to own “things”. These things keep us secluded, and take away from our time to truly learn from each other.During my time in the Army, I was exposed to a system where the people within the system don’t make as much money as they would like to. This causes us to seek other forms of entertainment. These forms of entertainment usually manifest themselves in a inexpensive, group activity. This causes a chain reaction to building friendships, and eventually bonding with people as if they were your own flesh and blood. It is a type of bond that is capable of existing in all human beings, if we weren’t so concerned with material possessions. This type of bond brings about a wealth money can’t buy. This sort of bond primarily exists in our culture through marriage and we end up only bonding to one person. This does not need to be the way it is. Everyone should have the opportunity to bond with each other. This will not happen on a global scale, in the near future, because human beings have been conditioned to greed and materialism for thousands of years. It is our inherent duty to break away from this type of lifestyle, and embrace the supernatural bond that is capable of flourishing within all of us.
Where do we begin?
Start by meeting like-minded people. I don’t mean people who think like you, as would be presumed. Meet people who are interested in developing these bonds. I have bonded with many different types of people. Some of those people I would have never attempted to, had I not been forced into the position; however, I am grateful I was. Get out of your house. Get away from the T.V. (I cannot stress this enough, and I will dedicate an entire section to this very point). Go meet random people, and spread the word. You maybe shocked at the results you find, if you take these steps. You will become more intelligent. Due to talking to new people, you will learn something you’ve never thought about before. Learning is the foundation of our existence. Our brain is the only organ that has no limits to how far you can exercise it. Every thing else in our body has limits, and can be broken if we push those limits. The worst thing that will come out of pushing your brain, is you will become mentally exhausted. The cure to mental exhaustion is sleep, and the brain is the the fastest recovering organ in your body. What other organ can you push for 12-16 hours a day, get some sleep, and have it be fully functional the next day? This should be an indicator that our brains are meant for serious, extensive use.
You will be happier.
Discovering new things, and meeting new people causes a natural release of dopamine. Dopamine is the “feel good” chemical that gives someone the sense of well-being. It also functions to increase our want to learn. Not only will you feel good when meeting new people or trying new activities, but you will also be chemically inclined to learn from that new person or activity. Do you see the cycle working it’s course? This is not an accident anymore than having sex to create a child. You will have more opportunities in life. This should be obvious, but it is still an important matter that I want to touch on. Everyone you will ever meet will open a door of opportunity. These opportunities may either be good or bad ones, and it’s your own responsibility to determine which they are. Don’t let this dissuade you from meeting people, simply because you don’t want to be opened up to bad opportunities, because for every bad opportunity that presents itself, there is a good opportunity standing right next to it. We have been conditioned to see the bad in everything, even if the good is right in front of us. This is partly in due to our upbringing, as well as our surroundings. How often have you seen a movie or a TV show where something bad doesn’t happen? I can’t think of many. Our society accepts us having a bad day… Everyday… Studies have shown that a healthy mind is someone who has one good thought for every bad one. The problem is, with all the things influencing our life, the average person has one good thought for every 4 bad thoughts. To put this in perspective, that many bad thoughts is the equivalent to having PTSD- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. We live in a society where our thoughts are constantly being bombarded with negative emotions and ideas. “Oh my hair doesn’t look good enough. I wish I had that shirt. I hope my boss doesn’t bitch at me today.” These are all negative thoughts that force you into a downward spiral. Now because you have those negative thoughts, you go to the doctor because something is wrong with you, and you get prescribed medication which ends up making you apathetic. 33% of the US population is on at least one form of medication blessed off by our government. So now you are being doped up, and physically controlled by our government, through your use of medication, and TV.
Turn off the T.V.
Television plays an important role in our lives today. You get your entertainment, news, knowledge, etc from it. The only problem with that, is that what is allowed t be shown on the TV is heavily censored. The programs that are on TV are made to target your emotions, to make you happy, sad, angry, etc. In the time you watched that 1 hour program, which most likely yielded very little factual information, imagine how many things you could have looked up online that would have sparked your interest. When you watch TV you are opening your self to be influenced by today’s pop-culture. You are being sculpted into a model by the governments design, though with variation. Looking up the information allows you to sharpen your bullshit sensor, and encourages you to think for yourself. This doesn’t mean get your information from one website online, because that would be silly. The benefit of looking information up online yourself, is because you can cross reference as many different sources as your little heart desires. Once you begin to learn things, you will be addicted to knowledge. Once you experience the joy of learning things that you WANT to learn, you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it to begin with.If you enjoyed this article, please feel free to like/share it .
