I happened to be fortunate enough to be around when eth was selling for $1. I'd love to just hold on to what I bought, but the temptation to sell and buy back is high.
You ask too big a question...there are so many coins to chose from ;). Personally, I like steempower, and ERC20 tokens which will hopefully generate a return from holding e.g. Gnt, rep, GNO, icn, snt,.... various others. I also have invested in eos. and, hope to hold a large stake in eth again, if it gets closer to proof of stake. But sure, there can be arguments made for BTC, LTC dash, and others too...e.g. Limited supply, potential adoption as currency.
