Hi @blanchy. I missed this one lol. Yeah I have had a few rough ones as well and don't think a song came to mind. If I was close to the cockpit maybe I would pop in there and have a go if the pilot was looking like crashing anyway. Never liked relying on others for my own personal safety and that is probably why I always drive myself and don't take lifts. Every time I get a lift something always happens.

Can you fly @cryptoandcoffee? 🤔🤔

No lol but I am a quick learner.

What is your discord user name I am trying to get you in somewhere.

Blanchy 0138. Get me in somewhere? Sounds very eyes wide shut! 😂😂

Trust me it will help you grow. I am in there already. Not as exiting as eyes wide shut lol.

Oh Jesus ! We re in trouble so ! 😂😂😂

Video Tape by Radiohead...but most likely I won't even think of it as my lips would be busy praying hahah

ahh finally someone picked my favourite band @thekitchenfairy. I love Thom's haunty songs like that and pyramid song but it is a suitable song also. Thanks for the comment!

Highway to hell

Haha good one. Hope you would do the strut down the aisle of the plane with the air guitar

Could probably do it from the ceiling if the plane is going down lol

A former colleague of mine was on a plane that had to land with no front landing (wouldn’t deploy). I’ve personally been in some major gusts but nothing like that. Song? Hmmm? Perhaps Bette Midlers “ Wind Beneath My Wings”.

I’m amazed of how many famous songs would be suitable in a plane crash 😂😂 no front landing 😱😱😱. Must of came down doing a wheelie .

Posted using Partiko iOS

That’s exactly what they did and then plopped the front end down. I can’t even imagine how intense that must have been. No one was hurt either.

If I had to Irish on the song I’d probably go with Jump Around by House of Pain 😎

Despacito
Quiero respirar tu cuello despacito
Deja que te diga cosas al oído
Para que te acuerdes si no estás conmigo♥️@blanchy in a crashing plane I always love listening my favourite song ones again

Why not a bit of summer music while you are going down with the ship

lol, well considering I would probably crap all over myself. (not really but it sounds funny.)
I would go for this classy song....

It's a beauty of a song and worth a listen. Especially in those white pants the dude is wearing. LOL

Hi @blanchy, you really have a luck being on that plane, I believe everyone has a fear of crush and hope that everything will be fine. Therefore I am really respectful for those guys who decides to become pilots and taking responsibility to take other peoplee's lived in their hands. Difficult weather condition is always hard and uncontrolable. Thank you for sharing,

Mag-1a.jpgCheers, from Art-supporting blog @art-venture

Yeah I agree. Being a pilot has a big responsibility! Never thought of that. Much check your blog out ! Thanks for the comment!

Might be a rock music on speaker so that all the other people will also enjoy :P

😂😂. Get a bit of atmosphere going. I like it.

I have flown a lot, one emergency landing, and I can't even begin to imagine being on that flight. And if I survived a crash in which other passengers had died I would never get on a plane again, either. But if I was going down and I knew it, I think I would be playing some Freddie Mercury really loudly in my ears singing
Another one bites the Dust.

Yeah I met the guy last year and he said he has never flown since. He gets a ferry everywhere now. Sad really and he still has nightmares about it.

I can imagine he does, poor guy. Thanks for writing such an impactful post! It made me count my blessings.

And still, you fly? Well done you, but I guess you got all your estate sorted out quite quickly after that.
Me, what song, well it would have to be one that brought back happy memories and one where I could visualise myself elsewhere. For all sorts of reasons, it would need to be Vittorio Monti's Czardas . Sure I know it's a tune, not a song, but if you are crashing to the ground at 500 mph who cares!

@scarletpimpernel . You know what they say. You have to get back on the horse. The flying horse . Maybe we can say unicorn then . I am actually flying out of cork tomorrow morning . Bad flights just come with the territory of being an island that has bad weather and high winds.just hope I’m not that 1 in 10 million person. Thanks for commenting 😀😀. Great name

Reading your story made me relive my first and only emergency landing in my way to Paris, which was actually a safe one. We've been told the plane had collided with a bird and needs to do an emergency landing on Budapest and needs to be checked out. We had to wait an hour before the plane could take off again. We were told the plane is fine but never actually find out anything about the bird :)) Ok, jokes aside, we didn't know what had happened, I guess they don't tell everything in order to avoid panic.
To answer your question, I don't think I'd play any music, I think I'd be trying to find a way to survive, somehow.
Sorry to hear about your colleague, it's not something you want to experience. I'm wondering if he'd ever fly again!

Jesus what kind of bird was it? 😂😂😂. An ostrich? Were yee in the air?? I’ve heard of a flock of birds getting sucked into engines causing them to explode. The colleague never flew again. He’s actually very high up in the company so he has to visit different countries . He now gets a ferry. I met him recently and he said the nightmares after it are the worst.

Sorry to hear about the nightmares your colleague, I wonder if he's going to get rid of them, ever.
Unfortunately birds can cause a plane crash, that's not a joke. I've seen documentaries how airports are taking care of birds so the don't fly into plane's turbine engines. We've been told that the bird hit the fuselage but as I said, who knows if that was entirely true or not. In any case, it was a funny situation but only after they told us everything is ok. The flight attendant had announced that the plane is fine and ready to take off and I asked her very loud "what about the bird?". Everyone was laughing :))
It was a very bumpy flight, I almost got sick. I told myself if this would have been my first flight, I might have never flown again :) But I got over it and never had a bad flight again.

You have to don’t you. Otherwise you are letting fear in . Funny about the bird 😂😂😂. I was on a flight once where a guide dog was on the plane . The plane turned out to be overbooked so the flight crew asked if anyone could fly later they would get refunded their fare and fly on next available. Everyone was looking at the dog in one of the seats. It was funny. Someone eventually got off flight but we had a great laugh about it.

Hahaha, unbelievable how cruel people can be, to single out the dog :)))

I am a very calm flyer. I have flown a lot since childhood and still today. I love airports and airplanes and never really feel fear on them. But the experience you had might change me! I've only had a few small events in my many years of flying and none of them bothered me.

I feel like the situation is not in my control and so I just do not worry about it.

As to music - I would want none. I like to stay it the place I'm at and rarely listen to music at all. And if it is my last moments, I hope I will be there with all my senses.

That is the right way to think. I go through stages . Nervous then got over it then this happened then got over it. Now have a daughter so slightly nervous again . It’s fine though . Like u said. If I’m gonna die I’m gonna die

lol - That's the spirit!

I gotcha
Learnin to fly

coming down is the hardest thing

I love to fly. Wondering if you ever want to again though

Or maybe freefalling?

now i'm freeeeee
free faaaaalling

yeah those two for sure

Was always a big Tom petty fan. Free falling would be very suitable ! 😀😀

A song when a plane is about crashing? I doubt I am gonna be calm enough to think of that, that wouldn't even cross my mind. You must be really brave to have thought of that...

I would probably just go through my phone to see the photos of all the people in my life at i might not get to see again once the plane crashes (and I die)... I guess that would be much more calming for me...

What a crazy experience you had to go through, not one I would wish for... Any possibility they could move that airport to a better place (that's if there is any)?

Photos would be good. Music was to keep my mind on something normal. Always worked on previous flights . You don't hear any of the commotion if the music is loud. No engine noises, no shreks, that kind of thing.

Oh, I get... But you will have to close your eyes then, if not the terror on people's faces might make you feel unsettled...

I would choise some decent techno music...

But thats not all. Also i would drink all the liquors (For free) that the flight attendant sell. And smoke a cigarrete :-)

God bless, that nobody here gets into such a situation!!!!

And by the way, i'm glad that i stopped here by, a very interessting topic you had chosen ;-)

Haha. I like your style. You might as well do that! Why not a cigar!!

Yes!! Buddy, the word was missing in my head :-)

havana cigar / or cuban would be also good.

Thats not very allowed in a plane by the way :-D

either is a cigarette!!

Maybe Beethoven's 5th Symphony, because I want to end things with style. :D

Never been on a plane before but hopefully I'll get to ride one someday. It's inevitable since my career would later require me to travel to different places for administrative work at times. Flight crash stories aren't going to stop me but they would probably bug me if I don't have Beethoven on the playlist prior to taking off.

Excellent choice @adamada. Do you know I’ve never listened to that in full. Il do it now while I walk the dogs. You will never go anywhere if you listen to all the stories and that’s even worse than crashing! One in a million chance. It is really safe most of the time!

The worst landing I ever experienced was at the exact same airport, we seemed to hit the ground then bounce left, then repeat though the nose went right, then left then right, then down, my mom was sitting next to me, she turned white as a ghost, turns out it was the pilots first commercial flight after being in the army.

@shepz1. That is mad that it was coming into Cork also . 😱😱😱. The mothers wouldn’t be good flyers at the best of times . 😂😂😂. Stairway to heaven . Excellent choice for a variety of reasons but the guitar solo at the end would be a great way to go out. I’d feel sorry for mammy though. You playing air guitar while in a nosedive! 😂😂😂😂

Not too long ago I went on my first flight(s) and absolutely loved it. Even got a kick out of it when we hit some turbulence and the plane started rocking.

As for what song? I would probably go for Rob Dougan, Speed me towards death.

Never heard that one . Will look it up!

Depends on how much I think I have time until imminent death.

I have one absolute favorite, but I'l save that for last. If I had time more than 6 minutes, I would first listen:
Amanda Marshall - Dark Horse
Goldfrapp - Yellow Halo
Mark Knopfler - Today is Okay
Annie Lennox - Into The West
Laleh - Some Die Young

So if I had only that 6 minutes, this is my one and only choice.
Liquid Tension Experiment - State of grace

I thought I knew my music until this post. Never heard that song before or 2 of the others you have listed.great instrumental.

Awesome that some of these weren't familiar to you before. :) I had never heard of Bon Iver. But now I have.

hahaha! you'd have to be out of your mind to want to listen to a song if you're crashing! No you better make peace with your maker in case you don't make it!

Genesis would be perfect for you @janton. You would be reading the book of it and listening to Phil Collins 😃

ha! very clever sir blanchy..in response I would just repeat what I said earlier lol.

'Fight Song' by Rachel Platten. At least I get some feel good stuff if real shit is about to happen

Ah here! I never would of put you down for that song! 😂😂😂. You are on a plane about to crash. Not in a spa with your dressing gown getting your toe nails painted. 😂😂😂. Each to their own.

Great story!
Mine would have to be the Smiths

Hiya Dierdy, been a while I saw you here. Lol, you guys are not serious...I won't be looking for songs when am about to be French toast

😂😂😂😂. Ah come on @empress-eremmy. Sort me out with a tune !

Hehehe not a chance

Oh empress, I don't think you've been looking hard enough;)
One more tune before I die, definitely my priority!

@deirdyweirdy you chose one of my all time favourite songs . The chorus is genius. Love the smiths. I’d probably go for “this joke isn’t funny anymore” . Love the haunty guitar at the end.

Wow, didn't have you down as a Smiths fan. You're much too funny;) I love each and every one of their wonderful tunes. The soundtrack to my youth.

I think Johnny Maher is a genius , love Radiohead as well. They put me in great form for some reason .

I've never travelled out of my country before and well one of the reason is the fear of crashing, you know missing limbs, burnt bodies and even the thoughts alone is gory.
I read with rapt attention every detail of this and it felt so close to me, if felt like I was experiencing this as a result of your narrative story. You're actually very lucky to be here narrating the nostalgia of nearly crashing, it hurts to know see the remains of that plane and so many dreams that would have shattered Just by that crash alone.
Truth is your narration is wonderful it's so captivating it feels like I felt what you felt. I won't want to be on a crashing plane, so if I knew someone who should or would I'd suggest he plays this.

Because I think dying is another phase

Thanks for the great comment @josediccus. I like the song too. It’s on my Spotify playlist but must of passed it by.
