I selected the current Steemit Name because it was available and I use this a lot...
I started out on the 'Web 20 years ago, and like most people in the US, I started with America Online. They try and set you up with your initials and a number, so I had that and it used "RGR" in there, which is related with my real name.
Segue to the next part... Rob Grey. There's your RGR! It is also in the name undeRGRound, which I selected when I was banned from another forum, (wrongfully I might add) I saw the word UNDERGROUND contained my signature RGR that I have had since the beginning. So I adopted that. π
As for changing my username, I'd prolly use "ROBtheKNOB" as it kinda rolls off the tongue LOL π π€£ Don't you think? I do have an alternate identity on here, for the Minnow Boot Camp, and "The SARGE" came about. Disclaimer: I am NOT a Veteran, but I came from a long history of vets, my Dad, who sometimes I call the "ULTIMATE Cold Warrior"... he was actually on a troop carrier at the START of the Cuban Missile Crisis, and they were told to be prepared for ANYTHING. Up to, and including going Directly to CUBA. Of course this did not happen, and he was glad to actually come home. He was on his way back from Germany, he got to see the Berlin Wall. When it was still a real Barrier.
Both grandfathers and my son are/were also Vets. So I have the utmost respect. IN FACT, I may be fulfilling the greatest desire of all veterans, and that is being of a generation that had no wars, if even for a moment. I was steered away from military service by nearly everyone, and I do feel slighted in a way. Would I change this? IN A HEARTBEAT. But I am grateful that we did have a time frame where there was relative peace and that we did have HEROES that have made our freedoms possible.

@owenwat: I know his real name, his screen name is based on it but there must be more to it than that, and he's the luckiest sum-buck on Steemit as far as Raffles and Silver Contests go. He's winning nearly EVERYTHING! Seems like more than 1/2 the ones I see him in, he wins something LOL!!! He won a prize in both my contests this year! Oh-Dub, I have your Tracking #'s if you DM me buddy :) Finally sent the goods, and since it was late I threw in a little extras in my FINEST @raybrockman Rip-Off Tradition! Maybe it's close to that good, I hope. Old RAY lifts the bar HIGH!!! π€΄ @everyone in the contest got at least an Extra 40% SILVER HALF and a SILVER WAR NICKEL. Even- @summertooth ! I like the name underground, perfect name for someone who choose after it being banned.
About time I get you to respond to one of my tags. Now you just have to complete your bucket list. Like me, I sometimes am doing so many things the challenges slip my mind, the PTSD does not help, but I will remember because some guys will not let you live it down. LOL. Always Forward! Steem On!
