Is this true? On July 1st Australia will recognise Bitcoin as money with Tax free status?

I'm curious, since there is nothing on mainstream Australian news about this initiation to introduce Bitcoin or Crypto currencies.

I understand that Australia is vying for a piece of the action by wanting to build a global FinTech hub, however the lack of promotion and discussion about commoditising the FinTech industry here in Australia is simply not being promoted in the public mainstream domain.

Looking at Linkedin, I don't see a huge listing of jobs around FinTech as one would expect with making Australia the hub for FinTech.
