insider trading: the illegal practice of trading on the stock exchange to one's own advantage through having access to confidential information.

in #stocks7 years ago

If that's the definition of insider trading, what is this whole bitcoin cash debacle? None of the parties are being in trouble for their relationship with the "stock exchange." None of them have been proven to have divulged any info to exchanges, partners, or other traders with special info that wasn't public knowledge. Has "insider trading" just been a way for the 1% to attack companies they didn't like from the beginning? Even in famous cases, the people who invested were doing so of their own accord. https://www.investopedia.com/articles/stocks/09/insider-trading.asp
