Really, having an optimistic view of life and knowing how to face the challenges that arise are characteristics of successful leaders. I imagine people are very fond of being led by people with high socialization skills who are outgoing. But quieter (introverted) people prefer quieter leaders, who empower them to develop their thoughts without acting coercively (in this case, having to act as everyone else does).
So I imagine that a person, to be really a leader, not just a boss, really needs to develop the empathy to know how to deal with his or her people.
