I honestly don’t know. Human limitations are OK. Imperfections are OK. Mistakes are OK. All those things can be talked through and worked on and accepted and really great therapy can go on.
I draw the line when gaslighting kicks in, though. When blatant withholding gets called “boundaries,” when imperfections and mistakes are not owned when pointed out but instead deflected or treated like some kind of sacred strategy for the good of the client.
In short, when wrong gets declared right by the one with the power, when this pattern becomes entrenched, when no matter what I say I’m never heard, when it’s clear it’s no longer about me but about the other’s perverted needs, that’s where I draw the line. I won’t put up with it, and I absolutely will not pay for it!
Why not?
Simple. I used to get all that for free when I was being abused.
