Suzhou amusement park on Christmas Day, China Travel

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Dear Steemit friends,

The other day I was browsing some pictures from my hard disk and found some of the pictures that I took on the Christmas day many years ago. These photos have been kept for years and haven't never shared in any social media.. so I decided to make a post about it.

I studied three months in Suzhou China during my college final year as overseas exchange program. Since I was able to apply for bursary for this program , the collage payed for all my expensive like air ticket, accommodation and daily cost.

Where is Suzhou?
Suzhou is a city in China located near Shanghai .And it is the capital of the Chinese kingdom of Wu from the 12th to 4th centuries BC. So there have a history of ancient culture and history. But also it's and industrial down and nothing really much to do. like nearby places as Shanghai or Hangzhou.

So we decided to go to the town's amusement park for the Christmas day. The theme park was pretty small, nothing very exciting for western standard but it's a fun day with children and locals. Since Suzhou is also an industrial town, there aren't many foreign tourists either.

I still remember the experiences although it was from 7 years ago as I spent my actual cold winter on my entire life . The weather was around 0 to -5 degree. Although I was wearing almost 5 layers, the wind made really freezing when we ride one of those.

They even have a small type of roller costers which I didn't ride.

I think it's also a period that making a peace sign in all the photos look cool.. haha

My favorite was definitely the gigantic Ferris Wheel as I tried to take pictures in every directions. The Ferris wheel is is a 120-meter tall and it's located on the bank of the lake .

These Chinese style sausages are very poupluar across china and we had to have some in the cold weather to warm ourselves. We only went to a couple of rides as the waiting time for the queue were long.

Finally , it was the Ferris Wheel ride . We saw the sunset from our warm cabin looking over the lake and the skyline of the Suzhou.

Ending the day with a great sunset view.It was indeed a great and memorable Christmas day spent!.. And thank you for following my journey.
