Pacific Coast Sunset. The views from Panoramic Drive and Pan Toll Road are absolutely stunning. I took this photo a year ago from a hilltop above Pan Toll Road in the Mt. Tamalpais area north of San Francisco. After climbing to the top, I spent more than an hour watching the sun set over the Pacific Ocean, casting it's surreal light on the grass covered hills below me.

Sunrise in the Sahara. The sand dunes of the Moroccan Sahara are an amazing sight. The huge amounts of piled sand are everything but boring, since the strong winds and the sun constantly change the patterns and colours of the dunes.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - European Thursday week #34 - winner announcement!

@ansharphoto European Thursday entry:

Two Towers, Bologna. This part of the city, built when Bologna was at the peak of its power and wealth, was once dotted with towers. In fact, one of Bologna’s many affectionate nicknames is “la turrita,” or the “city of many towers.” There were once hundreds of towers in the city; some were built for defensive purposes and many others built by powerful families, continually attempting to one-up each other.

In winter 2017, we got a lot of rain in Los Angeles and everything was incredibly green. Late that January, I decided to take a quick trip just south of downtown to Ascot Hills Park that offered a unique view of the city. Walking from my car on the path to the overlook of downtown, I snapped this photo on my new (at the time) iPhone 7 Plus. Sadly, this year we've had significantly less rain, so this beautiful green is no longer.

What a great shot Matt. It sure does not look like California:)...

Golden Moonrise
Its such a beautiful event to witness and even more amazing to photograph, for those who are clever enough to figure out the right place and the right time. And then be lucky enough to receive the right light. This is a photo of Cathedral Rock in Beautiful Sedona, Arizona USA.

Wow, that is quite an epic image! Thank you so much for that.

One of my first landscape photos taken on my first landscape photography trip back in 2009. The Grand Canyon is a marvelous landscape. Photos just cannot do it justice. Walking up to the rim for the first time is a very unique experience.

The photo was taken after a storm had passed and I titled it Heart of the Canyon due to the shape of the clouds and the canyon

Great shot!

Awesome! Where exactly did you take this photo? Is this the North Rim?

This was taken from Mohave Point on the South Rim if I remember correctly. Could also have been Hopi though.

This is such a great shot. I have wanted to visit the Grand Canyon for a long time and it looks like you got some awesome weather during your visit.

Yea, I even had snow on one day. It was in April when I was visiting and each day the weather changed a lot. It was great!

It sure is a marvelous place and you captured it so well. Thank you. Tomas

Golden Hour in Idaho

This photo is from my recent post of drone photos I made at my property a few days ago. A seasonal creek runs through the trees and provides habitat for a pair of mallards, and fresh water for the deer and elk that frequent it.

That is pretty spectacular. It's amazing what we can do those days thanks to use of the modern technology.

Photo of Mount Rundle at Banff National Park in Alberta Canada. This national park is in the Canadian Rockies, is very nice due its outstanding mountains, lakes, rivers and wild life. Mount Rundle is very iconic of this National Park, and it can be easily recognize because of its shape.

mt-rundle-01.jpg

Beautiful nature! Thank you for sharing with us.

We decided to drive up to a sketchy road carved into avalanche debris and we came across this heart stopping moment, when we got passed the tree line (around 6000 to 7000 feet up) and realized how narrow the road was and you couldn't see the edge of the road , all you could see was the cliff and the view of the small town of Canmore Alberta (the town is hiding in the trees below).

Spectacular image. Thank you and have a great day. Tomas

Winter Sunset over Lake Livingston, in eastern Texas. The reflections of the clouds in the water kinda look like manatees to me. I love the way this image makes me feel. Thank you

Awesome shot. It makes me miss Texas.

Thank you I miss it there too. Expect a few more to come in the next few weeks!

Thank you so much for your participation. Kindly stay tuned for the winner announcement coming later on today. Tomas

I really appreciate it Tomas, have a great weekend

The famous and iconic road of the Death Valley. Seemingly stretching into infinity. A straight line to the horizon, only broken up by mirages that make you see a lake or a patch of sky sticking to the ground. It's the big freedom reaching from horizon to horizon.

The road with no end! Love it.

Thank you very much :)

The salty mist of the sea begins to blow through The Golden Gate Bridge, as the afternoon traffic builds. We weren't initially going to stop at the lookout when on our way to the Muir Woods, but certainly weren't disappointed when we did.

That is an amazing landmark and definitely worth stopping at:)... Have a great day.

This is a shot the Evergreen Plantation in outside of New Orleans, Louisiana. This is a very iconic site and has had many movies filmed here. One of the more famous ones being the movie Django Unchained. This was one of the first stops that we had on our trip and it was amazing.

Thank you so much for your participation Wes! Have a great weekend. Tomas

Beach in Tulum, Mexico

The Caribbean is famed for its beautiful beaches. The beaches near Tulum in Yucatan suffer from a lot of algae that is washed to the shore, but the pristine sand and the beautiful rock formations make up for it and guarantee for a memorable experience.

I have also posted this photo on my blog.

We got invited to take part in the hot air balloon festival in called The Spirit Of Boise in Idaho. I wish I could only travel in hot air balloons from now. It guarantees some amazing pictures without a drone. After the flight champagne was waiting to calm the nerves :)

Artist's Palette in Death Valley, California. The unusual colors are caused by the oxidation of different metals. Iron produces red, pink and yellow, mica - green and the manganese gave the area its purple colors. Death Valley was featured in many movies and used to represent the surface of Mars and the Moon.

Wow its totally
Superp photography.

Thank you :))

Montreal with maple leaves
I took this picture from Mount Royal Parc (Parc du Mont-Royal) above Montreal during my trip to Canada in May 2015. I have to admit that I have improved the colours of the leaves in post-processing using Color Efex Pro 4 to make them look a bit more "Canadian".

New York is called by many nicknames. In the song of Frank Sinatra, who is singing about this city, is said that its “city that never sleeps”. This is probably because of New York famous nightlife. Other reason for this nickname might be that the subway system does not close through the night, but I like more the nightlife one 😊.

Ahoj!

Amarillo_8.jpg
Just few miles outside Amarillo you can find the Cadillac Ranch. The Cadillac Ranch is an artwork in which several Cadillac’s were buried in the field and are constantly painted over by visitors.

Bridal Falls in British Columbia, Canada

BC's forests really fascinated me. The vast mass of trees and nature is just smashing. You can find waterfalls in all shapes and sizes, Bridal Falls are kinda easy to access, not too far from Vancouver but it already feels you are light years away.

I've never been there, but it looks beautiful!

From the view of the apartment I have taken this picture of one of the highways in Miami Beach, Florida. I love the colors of the lights of the cars while they walk and when taking the photo is this wonder, this is a city with a lot of night life that is why thousands of cars run daily for these.

Denver, Colorado! When visiting cities I like to look around and look at buildings. There's always so much to see. You can see many historical buildings with many intricate details, but sometimes you can also find many modern and ultra modern buildings. Like the one on the picture. I took it in Denver, Colorado. Unfortunately, I do not remember what building it is, but it is very cool!

Had no idea Denver had architecture like this!

Can you see the climber getting ready for the route?
The Sierra Nevada batholith of California. Amazing rocks that experienced a number of glaciations during past few million years forming clear glacial geomorphology (e.g. Cirques, aretes, horns) and with current ice present (see below the peak) but at much smaller volumes than even a couple of hundred years ago (the recent droughts do not help either). Easy to get to and the climbing is world class! Enjoy!

Museum.png

This photo is in the American Museum of Natural History, located in the Upper West Side of Manhattan in New York, United States, it is one of the largest and most famous museums in the world. (It's the same museum where they made the "one night in the museum" movie). I can assure you that it looks cooler than in the movie, the whole site catches you with all its history. Many tourists visit this museum on a daily basis, and this dinosaur is one of its most appreciated collections, it is also very visible to everyone, where it is in front of another dinosaur larger than the one, pretending that they met or that they are fighting.

This is a view of the iconic Portland, Oregon sign at the entrance to the downtown. I always used to call this the Made in Oregon sign because thats what I seemed to recall it saying as a kid. Some quick research revealed that it did indeed used to say Made in Oregon and was only changed to its current format in 2010 when the city took ownership of it.

Liberty Enlightening the World…

Commonly known as the Statue of Liberty, it is one of the modern architectural wonders created by man, this was a gift from the French to the Americans in the year 1886 as it commemorated the centennial of its independence, from there it became a standard of modern architecture and one of the most visited attractions in New York City. If you go to New York City, you can not miss it.

Natural beauty of a river. It is the afternoon when the sun set.
