The Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles is one of the crown jewels of the city and serves as home to the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. It was designed by famed architect Frank Gehry and opened in 2003 to wide acclaim. But the building also brought some controversy. Some of the panels of this incredibly reflective building were heating up nearby condominiums and sidewalks to an unbearable degree. They found the offending panels and sanded them down to a matte finish.
