MAK DAO

Description
In 2023 the Museum of Applied Arts Vienna (MAK) decided to explore the collaboration between a DAO connected to the Museum itself. However, founding a DAO as a centralistic entitiy is almost impossible.
This community is here to support the idea of collaboration, web3 education and last but not least - creation of projects in accordance with the spirit of applied arts and design.
The challenge and beauty of this endeavor lies within the fusion of and friction between two fundamentally different systems: While the MAK is a highly centralized organization, a DAO lives and operates within a decentralized, independent, non-judgemental, open and democratic mindset.
MAK DAO's vision is to contribute to a future exhibition in the Museum of Applied Arts by discussing ways of cooperation, earning models, governance structures and recognition. The game is on: While the MAK has to let go of control, the DAO will have to extend influence. Let us begin and see where this experiment leads us!
