RE: [Arabic Translation] [OpenCart project] [740 words]

in #utopian-io6 years ago (edited)

Hi @sweetone ,

Thank you for your contribution.

Your contribution has been reviewed. while I am very happy with the evolution of your understanding of our community, I think more work can be done to improve the entire translation process; thus, I allowed myself to write a list of points that I think should be taken very seriously to enhance the quality of your work and your performance at the same time:
    • Make sure to add the source of the images you used in the thumbnail/presentation. You can also refer to the origin of the separators at the end of your contribution. If you designed the materials used in the post, please provide the information at end of your presentation to keep a smooth presentation if you want.

    • You can remove the screenshot of your stats from your presentation, the community decided weeks ago that screenshots must only serve the presentation in a sense where the translator will only need to use them to explain something about the project/translation. If you want more help about this, ping us in Discord!

    • We gave you before a lot of suggestions and guidance to follow. Still, you used the word (المنتوج) instead of (المنتج) again, can you please let us know why because this was already discussed before. There is a huge lack of consistency, in some strings you used the word (المنتوجات) in other strings, the(المنتجات) is the one used… in some strings, you used (البلد) for (state) and in other strings, you used (ولاية) for (state) … there are just too many incoherencies in the translation. There is a certain level of dynamism in any language, in the Arabic semantics, there is a situation where you can use (الرجاء) or (يرجى), you will have to know which one is better, we can’t apply a hard rule with semantics, It is up to the translator to determine the right word.

    • Please make sure and pay more attention to use the proper work for the whole project, especially if the problem was already discussed before. You were also apprised to use a coherent format for brand names (Visa, eBay, Amazon, Mastercard, …). But again, the advice was ignored for some reason. Please choose just one way of working with the brand names, and apply the model to your previous work. I am personally with the use of the original source because some websites such as (SagePay) cannot be found if you write it in Arabic.

    • I have also suggested, corrected and proposed many strings. You can directly check them on Crowdin.

    • Overall, I think there is a lack of communication going on here, or dedication by the same occasion. Most of the pieces of advice were completely or partially ignored without any reason or discussion. We don’t want to rediscover the issues that we already solved before, this is really time-consuming and goes against our standards.

Please make sure to take all the previous notes (in this contribution and the previous ones) into consideration in the future. You can start by making the proper changes to brand names and so forth.

If you want any help with anything, ping us in our Discord, and we will assist you.

Looking forward to your next contribution.
