Earlier "rumours" were about a late February date. Even Sam had indicated about an announcement for airdrop in a day or so in the Telegram group.
Now they say that snapshot can happen anytime before 1st June though they will make an official announcement 2 weeks prior to the snapshot.
I still wonder why do they want to do this airdrop before the launch of EOS mainnet. Won't it be a lot of trouble switching all ERC20 tokens to block.one?
This airdrop is the most confusing one I ever came across!
It's very simple. Block.one are doing a snapshot. They're providing that snapshot to the Everipedia team. IQ is not an erc20 token. They will distribute the tokens across the EOS holders once the blockchain is launched using the snapshot provided by block.one.
That's much simpler than launching an erc20 token, arranging an airdrop and trying to secure it from cheaters and then swapping for another token after the EOS launch.

No. The snapshot will take place when block.one freezes the EOS tokens which is at the end of the EOS ICO. The snapshot won't be taken before then.
