If you want to get to know more about the effects of Yoga in genereal feel free to read my post about yoga
Today I'll write about the asana second warrior called Virabhadrasana II in Sankrit.
It is a pose which is easy to learn with several effects on body and mind. You can see it in the picture. The front leg has to bear most of the weight so it is the one which is strengthened. The other one gets strechted espacially in the hip flexor like in the first warrior as well.
The arms are outstrechted to the sides which looks like front and back because of the slightly rotatet torso. This has a strengthening effect on the shoulders. It is important to let the shoulders drop down and not pull them up to the ears. Otherwise you might have a painful neck afterwards. This pose increases your balance and overall stability.
The rotation of the trunk stimulated your abdominal organs and it is able to relieve backaches in the lower back.
Interesting fact: Did you know yoga has a positive effect on heart helth? Here is an interesting link about that topic by the American Heart Association
