BI bans electronic money services in online stores, until when?

Bank Indonesia (BI) temporarily suspends electronic money services in several online stores, one of Tokopedia's Tokopedia Shops. This termination is done because there is no permission from BI as regulator payment system for the operation of electronic money in some online stores.

Director of Program Elektronifikasi Department of Policy and Supervision of BI Payment System, Pungky Purnomo Wibowo, said the termination of service will be done until the owner completes all the requirements set by BI.

"Depending on whether the online store is not ready, whether they have completed the requirements set by Bank Indonesia, the audit already exists or not," Pungky said at Bank Indonesia Building, Jakarta, Friday (9/22).

Pungky said, Bank Indonesia may complete the granting of licenses no later than 35 working days. Some online stores that are currently applying for electronic money issuance license is Tokopedia, Shopee, and Paytren.

"We want to provide comfort for the community when conducting non-cash transactions For the completion of the permit, if it has been completed all the requirements then at least 35 days is complete,"
