Unmasking The 2nd Amendment

2ND AMENDMENT Myth #1:

The 2A does NOT give American citizens the right to bear arms. It STOPS the government from INFRINGING on the citizens right to bear arms.

It's not about permission to the people. It's about restraint of the government.

Not to throw you for a curve ball, we get...

2ND AMENDMENT Myth #2:

It's NOT about firearms. Full. Stop. Period. That's it. That's all.

Firearms are ONLY the most AND first visible expression of the 2ND AMENDMENT - and the most practical.

To draw a comparison, let's talk about football (Tom Brady, not David Beckham).

To say that football is "big guys throwing a weird shaped ball through the air" really cheapens the game.

Behind that "throwing of the ball," are plays, tactics, strategies.

Blocking, receiving, running.

The quarterback fakes and throw left but runs with it and throws right.

Teamwork. Practice. Mindset. Preparation.

The 2ND AMENDMENT is the same. Firearms are just the tip of the iceberg. Beneath the freezing water is the true PRINCIPLE:

The right for citizens to defend themselves, their homes, loved ones, community, property, place of business, and COUNTRY...

From ALL threats: criminal, foreign, domestic.

Firearms just happens to be the best way to do so. If frying pans were the best way to defend yourself, the 2A would stop the government from preventing citizens having frying pans.

Still with me?

Firearms are NOT the heart and soul. The right to effectively defend yourself is.

Now here's something else to think about. Why is the 2ND AMENDMENT so high up there on the US Constitution? Why didn't the Founding Fathers make it the 4th, 5th, 11th amendment?

Why is it right after the first (free speech)?

Because it's the GLUE that holds the rest of the Constitution together. The 2ND AMENDMENT is the protective big brother to the 1st Amendment, 3rd Amendment... ALL OF THE AMENDMENTS.

History proves what I'm about to say: the ONLY rights you have are the rights you're willing to fight for.

The 2ND AMENDMENT protects the citizens rights to do so.
