Amazing Nature - When the weather plays a trick on you and you can't see the landscape: nothing to do against clouds. 😅❤️

One of the reasons why I don't like to see pictures of a place before I go to see it in person is that I don't want to be disappointed when I get there. Nowadays many photos can be edited and be better than what the reality represents, so for me the best thing to do is to go and see everything with your own eyes. Another reason for disappointment may be that the good weather does not accompany you on your walk and the landscape is not as you saw it on the internet. That happened to my hiking companions, who upon arriving at Puerto de Arrayanes in Neuquén expected to see an incredible postcard and all we got at first were pure clouds 😅.

Since we started our walk at 9 AM to cover the 12 km that separate the center of Villa La Angostura with the Arrayanes Forest, we knew that the day was not going to be spectacularly beautiful. The trail runs along the Mansa Bay, and when we wanted to look towards the lake area, the landscape was shrouded in a thick gray fog. Our hope was that three hours later the landscape would clear up a bit, but it continued to do so until midday 🙃.

I had already been to this place last year but this time I was lucky enough to have a sunny and cloudless day, where the landscape looked incredible. Lake Nahuel Huapi, blue in all its splendor and surrounded by mountains, is a fascinating postcard. On this winter trip I expected to see the same thing but with the mountains in their snowy version, although the cloudy day seemed to have other plans. After a while, the cloudiness seemed to give no respite 😅.

An hour had passed when it finally seemed like the sun was going to come out a little. However, the clouds remained stuck, blocking the visibility of the mountains. Well, this is not exactly what we expected to see, but I think it looks nice anyway. At least we could appreciate the landscape a little, although I don't deny that I would have liked to see it in its entirety. My companions felt cheated, but we didn't stop taking photos with that scenery in the background 😅.

Places like Villa La Angostura in Neuquén are beautiful regardless of the weather. My favorite part of this place is the one near the dock, where you can see the water in an incredible emerald green color. There wasn't much sun and the water already looked that color, crystal clear and made you want to swim a little even though the temperature outside is less than 10 °C. During our afternoon at the dock we saw a few boats arrive with tourists who want to see the forest, those not brave enough to walk the 12 km to get there 😅.

Although we didn't see the typical postcards of this place when the sun is at its highest and the sky is completely clear, I think we had some good cloudy views. At least it didn't rain, which was what we feared the day before. I love this place for the peace it conveys, and because wherever you look, you can find a beautiful corner. Returning to Villa La Angostura was one of the things I wanted to do since last year and I was glad that it happened: now I have two different memories of the postcards of this place ❤️.

It's very true what you say, there is no worse disappointment for a tourist than having a place in mind and when you get there you realize that what you saw or what they told you is not so.
It's a shame that your friends were not able to see all the beauty of the place, they would have been disappointed without a doubt.
Personally, I like the clouds and the fog, it has a special charm.
How great that you were able to return to Villa La Angostura, dear friend @lauramica
Have a wonderful weekend

I think that even with the clouds the landscape looked very beautiful. It was a good afternoon, although they will have to go again if they want to see a clear landscape. 😅
