After nearly three hours of cycling, I was pleased to find a cool beer waiting for me in the fridge, which by its very name encourages me that ‘It's Time’ for a beer.

Brasserie de Katsbier was established a few years ago in the village of Méteren in the Hauts-de-France region north of Lille and a few kilometres from the border. While the word ‘Brasserie’ is simply a brewery or pub, ‘Katsbier’ derives from the combination of two Dutch words ‘Katsberg’ (Mont des Cats) and ‘Bier’ (beer). The brewery is located at the foot of Mont des Cats hence the reference in the name.
POL Brasserie de Katsbier powstał kilka lat temu w miejscowości Méteren w regionie Hauts-de-France na północ od Lille i kilka kilometrów od granicy. O ile słowo "Brasserie" to po prostu browar lub pub, natomiast "Katsbier" wywodzi się z połączenia dwóch holenderskich słów „Katsberg” (Mont des Cats) i „Bier” (piwo). Browar znajduje się u podnóża Mont des Cats stąd nawiązanie w nazwie.
‘It's Time’ is a Double IPA, it is one of the beers brewed in the Craft Collection, this collection shows the brewery's commitment to creating unique and aromatic beers. ‘It's Time’, which is a strong pale ale, is characterised by its golden colour and high alcohol content. An 8% alcohol content is typical for Flanders beers, so the brewers at de Katsbier did not combine in this respect. At least you don't feel this 8% during consumption, or my perception has changed after so many years in Belgium. The beer has a delightful bouquet of floral and fruity notes, including citrus, exotic fruits and a hint of coconut. Despite being a Double IPA, the bitterness is surprisingly mild, making it an approachable choice for those who may be wary of overly bitter beers.
POL "It's Time" to Double IPA, jest jednym z piw, które uwarzono w Craft Collection, kolekcja ta pokazuje zaangażowanie browaru w tworzenie unikalnych i aromatycznych piw. "It's Time", czyli mocne jasne piwo charakteryzuje się złotym kolorem i wysoką zawartością alkoholu. 8% zawartości alkoholu to typowa wartość dla flandryjskich piw, dlatego browarnicy z de Katsbier nie kombinowali w tym względzie. Bynajmniej nie czuć tych 8% podczas konsumpcji, albo moja percepcja po tylu latach w Belgii się zmieniła. Piwo charakteryzuje zachwycający bukiet nut kwiatowych i owocowych, w tym cytrusów, owoców egzotycznych i odrobiny kokosa. Pomimo tego, że jest to Double IPA, goryczka jest zaskakująco łagodna, dzięki czemu jest to przystępny wybór dla tych, którzy mogą obawiać się zbyt gorzkich piw.
The beer pours with a rich, creamy white head that lingers atop a golden-blonde beverage. This beer exemplifies Brasserie de Katsbier's approach to brewing, which follows the pure tradition of Flanders beers, using infusion methods and a minimum 15-day maturation period. Very tasty, I'm curious about other products from this brewery, and I have several in my cellar, including Moeras, this triple blonde ale brewed with peaty whisky malt. But that will be next time.

Piwo to jest przykładem podejścia Brasserie de Katsbier do warzenia piwa, które podąża za czystą tradycją piw flandryjskich, wykorzystując metody infuzji i co najmniej 15-dniowy okres dojrzewania. Bardzo smaczne, ciekawy jestem innych produktów z tego browaru, a mam ich kilka w swojej piwniczce, w tym Moeras, to potrójne piwo blond warzone z torfowym słodem whisky. Ale to będzie następnym razem.
