The benefit is that it would boost liquidity on the exchange to make easier on/off ramps for SPS. More liquidity and volume on the exchange is what would be gained.

If this passes, there should be a follow up proposal covering what to do with the SPS. Then we could at least vote on burning it or not. I do think burning it is the fairest way…

Not quite, Proposal 3 states the DAO is refunding the packs anyway, you can cast your vote against inflating and that's it, no one is screwing anyone if it doesn't pass.
