Hello everyone!! How's your day been?
My mission for today is pictured in the photo... π²... I have decided that whilst we are in Cape Town I want a bicycle for getting around. π I posted on some local groups and this is what I ended up with. A real retro ladies bike... π No gears, backpedal brakes and bright pink. The girl-child's first reaction was that we need to spray paint it another color.. π π I'm down with the pink.. Who cares in any case? π€.. π Now i only need a basket, proper bicycle lock and some green stuff to prevent the tires from going down as there's a heck of a lot of thorns around these areas.
I've perhaps mistakenly got a bit of a romanticized view of cycling to the shop and beach instead of walking or bussing. I remember doing that yonks ago when I was in the Netherlands. I do reckon if I'm gonna do it anywhere in Cape Town, Melkbosstrand is perfect!
Hubby's still stuck in Mauritius. Redtape and more Redtape and even more Redtape means that they are not yet able to depart. We keep our fingers crossed for this ordeal to pass so they can get underway! In the meantime they're keeping busy preparing for the trip.
Furthermore we're all good. The weather was fantastic today so I managed my 10000 steps once more. π Hopefully the cycling will be good for some weight-loss if nothing else. π
I hope you've had a great day today. Enjoy the rest of your evening and see you guys tomorrow! β€οΈ

Go pink and you never go wrong! π
... π π π Agreed.. We drove a bright pink island car for 6 months too... Doesn't scare me. π
ππ very cute bicycle though
Thank you. Many people (including friends and family) don't understand that I actually enjoy walking and cycling and bussing. I just wish our country was safer for everyone to do so!!
Talk about safety of the country, a another topic all together. Did you see in the news the girl that was bullied in school and pushed her to commit suicide?
@joetunex i did. As I've worked as a teacher for almost 10 years it saddens me to see the anger and bullying our children needs to deal with on a daily basis. π
Sad having your kid go to school and come back home to commit suicide.
True and unnecessary. Sad sad sad π but happening all over in more and more communities as parents are more absent everywhere across cultures. It breaks my heart
