I'm not quite sure where to begin, but I recall a wise person who said "Start at the beginning. Write until you're done. Finish." So I'll give that a go.
So my name is Johnny Olsson. For over a decade I've been bloging on my own platform at http://scriptorium.se/josh. With various success of course, but I've managed to gather some steady readers over time and I've written pieces that have gone viral. On occasion I've been contacted by Swedish newspaper editors asking for a re-write of one of my pieces to be published. I think I could be considered reasonably heavy in the Swedish blogosphere. Or at least was, when the Swedish blogosphere mattered. It carried me far enough to be a top five candidate to the Swedish Parliament for The Pirate Party, then led by Rick Falkvinge who also happens to be a contributor to Steemit.
When I'm not a blogger I make a living on the factory floor in Södertälje, Sweden, or trying my best to raise two beautiful young boys. The success rate varies in that department, too. I'm passionate about music and hockey and interested in civil liberties, philosophy and just general knowledge. I've never been one to specialize in any particular area, but rather I tend to know a little about a lot. Which may not be much to put on ones resumé, but it's quite useful if you're into analogies.
While it may be considered better to be a big or medium sized fish in a small pond (certainly safer) than a small fish in the ocean, I've long been tempted to switch to writing in English. Although I can handle myself in my second language, it is still my second language. And making the switch is a bit scary. Still, it's a leap I've been about to take once in a while. You got to move out of your comfort zone in order to evolve.
I guess I've never really had a reason to move out of the comfortable Swedish pond and into the ocean that is the English language. Steemit just gave me a reason.
So here I go, taking the leap. If all goes well, you'll be reading a mix of posts, spanning from personal observations and interests to politics and social matters. Always with a bit of a twist and my personal brand of wit.
If you're willing to give me the benefit of the doubt, it may be worth it. And please, don't refrain from pointing out my errors, be they factual or grammar. I've adopted the philosophy of embrasing my mistakes and being grateful for having them pointed out because it's an opportunity to improve.
